The French
Republic is the rump French state, left over from the traditionally French
speaking departments which include all of the Burgundy-Franche-Comte, Centre-Val
de Loire, Ile-de-France, Hauts-de-France and Normandy regions. It will also
consist of the Ardennes, Aube, Marne, Haute-Marne, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse,
Vosges, Charente, Charente-Maritime, Deux-Sevres, Vienne, Allier, Ain, Isere,
Loire, Puy-de-Dome, Rhone, Maine-et-Loire, Mayenne, Sarthe and Vendee departments.
Added to this are the French speaking regions of Belgium. These include the Waloon Brabant, Hainaut,
Luxembourg and Namur provinces. Also included are the French speaking regions
of the Liege province. These include the Huy, Liege and Waremme arrondissements.
Finally the Aubel, Baelen, Dison, Herve, Jalhay, Liemeux, Limbourg,
Olne, Pepinster, Plombieres, Spa, Stavelot, Stoumont, Theux, Thimister-Clermont,
Trois-Ponts, Verviers and Welkenraedt Municipalities of the Verviers arrondissement are part of this nation.
It is an obvious assumption that as centralised states in Europe fail, so too will their overseas possessions see no point in remaining in unions with colonial bodies that no longer exist. For France this will of course lead to a number of overseas islands gaining some forms of independence, in the aftermath of this break up. We are also already seeing moves to have an independent Republic of Inini form in the south american territory of French Guiana.
