Yorkshire is another region which draws on
its Norse heritage, to set it apart from its surrounding regions. It will likely
be a modern republic, after it withdraws fully from association with the English
Crown.
Its territory is defined by the historical Yorkshire counties
boundaries. These include the four Yorkshire counties of West Yorkshire, South
Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and East Riding of Yorkshire, currently a part of the United Kingdom.
The flag of Yorkshire
is based on its War of the Roses heraldic symbol of the White Rose.
