Disinformation Sensitivity Workshop #4: The Blogger's Dilemma

DISCLAIMER:

So there I was gang, two thirds of the way through my regular Thursday night ritual of drinking whisky, eating expired tuna from the dumpster, reading my copy of Mein Kampf and yelling at the TV [#notreallybutfordramaticeffect ##idonthaveaTV] when I suddenly remembered: omFUCKINGg, you guys! I almost forgot to do my weekly Disinformation Sensitivity Workshop!

But nobody fucking panic, alright? I remembered.

I AM A PROFESSIONAL DISINFORMATION SENSITIVITY WORKSHOP "FACILITATOR" AND I'M HERE NOW TO TALK YOU THROUGH SHIT AND EVERYTHING IS GONNA BE FUCKING WONDERFUL.

So, just sit back and relax and let's all see what I can pull together with nothing but whisky, expired tuna from the dumpster, my copy of Mein Kampf, you and me.

PART ONE: TESTED ON CHILDREN AND ANIMALS

Have you ever picked up a copy of Mein Kampf  and started to read it and not quite managed to make it through the first few pages of horrible, fucked up, racist and insane ranting and wondered to yourself how such an obviously evil and barely literate lunatic managed to manipulate millions of sane, healthy and otherwise well adjusted people into participating in years of brutal genocide and war?

I often have.

Which is why it was useful for me - merely useful, mind, not pleasant or comfortable - to just fucking wade right into that shit and find out for myself just how such an obviously evil and barely literate lunatic managed to manipulate millions of sane, healthy and otherwise well adjusted people into participating in years of brutal genocide and war.

And look what I found, way down there in chapter X:

"All this was inspired by the principle - which is quite true in itself - that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility.

Because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily.

And thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie; since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods.

It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously.

Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation.

For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying."

- Adolf Hitler: Mein Kampf, [volume I, chapter X, 1925, arrogantly abridged and italicised by me.]

I know, right? Still, it never hurts to put this shit in it's proper historical context. OK, usually it does hurt, but that's prolly no excuse not to go there, you dig what I'm saying here?

PART TWO: SICK FROM BAD INFORMATION [#alsowhiskyandexpiredtunafromthedumpster]

OK, nobody fucking panic. Just because I'm writing about Mein Kampf doesn't mean I endorse any of Hitler's ideology, I'm totally not a fascist or anti-Semitic, at least 50% of my ancestry would ensure I was killed on site by the fascists, and the fact that I'm an anarchist prolly wouldn't help, what with fascists being notoriously unmoved by the "you're just picking on me coz I hate you" defence and all.

I'm just trying to explore these ideas and see if there's anything we can learn from the past that might be helpful in combating the horrible, fucked up, racist and insane ranting of our very own obviously evil, if perhaps more literate, lunatic leaders in their efforts to manipulate millions of sane, healthy and otherwise well adjusted people into participating in years of brutal genocide and war. You dig what I'm saying here?

So, extrapolating from the above quotation, what can we learn about our contemporary geopolitical context and it's brutal genocide and war? I would like to humbly submit that we can learn the following:

People governments who are willing to commit genocide will also be capable of telling lies.

Or, to put it another way:

People governments who are willing to tell lies will also be capable of committing genocide.

Which is why I have trouble "trusting" the people of Australia government of Australia [to chose a totally random example] when they say they only want to stage a military occupation of the Northern Territory because they want to "help" and "free" Indigenous people.

Because we here at Total Disinformation Awareness [.blogspot.com] are in possession of the facts relating to the genocide of the Indigenous people of Australia by the people of Australia government of Australia.

And we are aware that people governments who are willing to commit genocide will also be capable of telling lies.

And this is why I had trouble "trusting" the people of Australia and the United States governments of Australia and the United States [to chose a totally random example] when they said they only wanted to stage a military occupation of Iraq because they wanted to "help" and "free" the Iraqi people.

Because we here at Total Disinformation Awareness [.blogspot.com] are in possession of the facts relating to the genocide of the Iraqi people by the people of Australia and the United States governments of Australia and the United States.

And people governments who are willing to tell lies will also be capable of committing genocide.

And this, finally, is why I have trouble "trusting" the people of the United States government of the United States [to chose a totally random example] when they say "no option is off the table" in relation to bombing Iran because they only want to "help" and "free" the Iranian people and/or because the Iranian people are "aiding the enemies of America."

Because, if we remember, people governments who are willing to commit genocide will also be capable of telling lies.

That's all I'm trying to say here, you dig me?

PART THREE: THE BLOGGER'S DILEMMA

See, this is how it's gonna play out: first it's gonna happen to poor brown people you don't care about itn countries you've never heard of, then it's gonna happen to poor brown people you don't care about in "your own" country, then it's gonna happen to more poor brown people you don't care about in more countries you've never heard of, then it's gonna happen to whiney apathetic cunts who failed to do anything while they still had the freedom to act.

And this, I contend [and still maintain] is how "the big lie" operates.

But maybe it doesn't have to happen like that, you know? After all, we here at Total Disinformation Awareness [.blogspot.com] are in possession of facts, and if you are reading these words right now you are also in possession of facts and that means none of us ever have to fall for "the big lie" again, because we're gonna remember these words:

People governments who are willing to commit genocide will also be capable of telling lies.

Or, to put it another way:

People governments who are willing to tell lies will also be capable of committing genocide.

Now, don't just go to rallies and write letters and wring your hands and say "but what is to be done?" Everyone reading this now do everything* you can to stop these holocausts.**

Resist in every way possible while you still have the freedom to act.***

Wow, I got all dramatic there at the end and forgot I AM A PROFESSIONAL DISINFORMATION SENSITIVITY WORKSHOP "FACILITATOR" for a second, huh? Well, anyway, hopefully some classical music can bring it all on home for you:

Ozzy Osborne, ladies and gentlemen. That's Sir Ozzy Osborne to you.

*Anticipating your confusion, shock &/or awe, do it by informing yourself about the reality of the world you live in, spreading awareness about the manipulation and lies we are all being fed, and taking radical direct action and/or [preferably and] supporting those who are, you lazy, cowardly stooges, you.
** There, I said it.
*** Yeah, I'm telling you.

Disinformation Sensitivity Workshop #3: Information Hides Information [In Information]

[Or: How To Be A Supersleuth Like MEEEEEEE!!!!]

PART ONE: THE SOCIAL CONTRACT

You know what, gang? Truth ain't easy. Truth doesn't, like, just rise to the surface, you know?

You gotta dig for truth, yeah?

You gotta dig for truth through a whole shitload of lies, and those lies have really slick public relations campaigns and awesome websites with cool animations and thousands of whorebots with fancy journalism degrees [from real universities!] who get paid big money to make sure you don't get to see the truth.

Truth ain't easy, but maybe it's not supposed to be. If you wanna wade into truth, in all it's fucking glory, you gotta be aware you're gonna be wading through a whole lot of lies masquerading as truth.

But, like, you got something better to do with your time, or what?

Yeah, I didn't think so.

PART TWO: HOW TO BE A SUPERSLEUTH LIKE MEEEEEEE!!!!

In light of all this, I have found a way to sleuth out secret shit on .gov.au internal sites. It's surprisingly easy and fun and [this is important] not illegal. So, do this search, right now:
Yeah, I'm tellin' you.

OK, so maybe I was exaggerating a little bit about how surprisingly easy and fun and [this is important] not illegal sleuthing out secret shit on internal .gov.au sites is. It's not that much fun. Unfortunately a lot of the secret shit you can sleuth out on internal .gov.au sites seems to be really fucking boring, along the lines of the non-secret shit on .gov.au external sites, which is also really fucking boring.

I know, what the fuck? Lift your game, internal .gov.au sites! [And yes, internal .gov.au sites, I know you're reading this.]

But it is surprisingly easy and [this is important] not illegal and, you know, two out of three ain't so bad, now is it?

Actually, it's only 66% but it could be worse.

PART THREE: INFORMATION HIDES INFORMATION [IN INFORMATION]

OK, OK, OK. Let's just be real for a second here. I know you don't have the attention span to "read" long, boring, complex sequences of motionless "words," and I know it's, like, really hard for you to analyse and comprehend the "meaning" of long, boring, complex sequences of motionless "words," and I know that you are all so lazy, or hungover, or wasted, that you couldn't "understand" what those "words" are supposed to "mean" even if you could "read" them, and I know, deep down, you really just want me or someone like me to do all the "thinking" for you and "explain" the "meaning" of those "words" for you.

Well, fuck you, I'm not gonna. Where's the fun in that? As my man Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche so memorably said:
And we should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once. And we should call every truth false which was not accompanied by at least one laugh.
And furthermore:
For cheerfulness - or, in my own language gay science - is a reward: the reward of the long, brave, industrious and subterranean seriousness, of which, to be sure, not everyone is capable. But on the day we say with all our hearts: "Onwards! Our old morality too is part of the comedy!" we shall have discovered a new complication and possibility for the Dionysian drama of "The Destiny of the Soul" - and one can wager that the grand old eternal comic poet of our existence will be quick to make use of it! [1]
And Fred Willy was, like, this sick old miserable German bastard who lived in the horrible olden days, right? And we prolly have it a lot fucking easier than him, but he recognised the joy [or gay science, if you prefer, I know, shut up] to be found in digging for truth, even if you never find it. So what's your fucking excuse, huh?

CONCLUSION: I AM SPEAKING TO YOUR INSTINCT

Yeah, but I am:

You can and you can't,
You will and you won't;
You'll be damned if you do,
You'll be damned if you don't.

[SockRatEz says: you sure it is not illegal? Did you check with the three Drunken Monkey Lawyers? I clicked on it and saw a load of "confidential" files ... I guess if it is on the interenet it is public domain? Or is this another trick like when WhiteyRoundEye told me to type "itanimulli" dot com (illuminati spelled backwards) into my browser ... go on do it, I dare you! Please confirm with the 3 DMLs and let us know]

[Greg the Bunny says: the gods damn it SockRatEz ... I did that and now I have the NSA on my I.P. [e]arse!!]

[HappyAppleStarLight says: let me tell you a story about another group of people who had to confront evil and  maybe do things that weren't that legal even though they were afraid. Dorothy and Toto went to Oz and fought The Wicked Witch Of The West and all her creepy FLYING MONKEYS and they had nothing but their courage and sparkly rainbow magic and catchy songs and THE GOODNESS IN THEIR HEARTS oh, and munchkins and in the end they TOTALLY MURDERED THAT WICKED WITCH AND THAT MEANS THEY WON!!! OK, I know that's The Wizard Of Oz, but so what you guys? IT'S STILL BASED ON REAL LIFE! You know?]

[sparx says: I feel like HappyAppleStarLight may have a good point somewhere in there. So I did consult the three drunken monkey lawyers and in between shots they said it's definitely not illegal. So. You guys. Come on. Seriously. Let's all try to be a bit more like Nietzsche and a bit less like Greg the Bunny and approach digging for truth with a little bit of fucking gay science already and not get caught up in fear, yeah? Yeah? Yeah. [#nietzscheforthewin]]

Disinformation Sensitivity Workshop #2: Chains We All Can Believe In

I dare you, I fucking dare you [from this extremely safe distance] to imagine three people are imprisoned in a prison.

Wait, what? "Imprisoned in a prison?" Who's editing this shit? OK, let's make it a bar. With, like, all your favourite kinds of beer, and the good tequila, oh, and you know those wasabi pea things that are about 20% MSG? I love those things.

Right. As I was saying: I dare you, I fucking dare you [from this extremely safe distance] to imagine three people are imprisoned in a bar.

And imagine the interesting and poignant thing about this bar is that the door is wide open.

Now: imagine that one of these three people realises the door to this bar is wide open and tries to escape, but as soon as this happens, all kinds of alarms go off and all three people are gassed until they lose consciousness.

When they wake up one of these three people realises [again] that the door to this bar is wide open and tries [again] to escape. But as soon as this happens the other two people become afraid and argue with the first person, saying, basically: the last time someone tried to escape all kinds of alarms went off and all three of us were gassed until we lost consciousness and it was really socially awkward and got in the way of drinking.

And when the first person again tries to escape, the other two people beat this person up until they lose consciousness, and when this person wakes up they don't try to escape again, even though the door is still wide open.

Furthermore: imagine that one of these three people is then taken away and replaced with a new person. This new person realises that the door is wide open and tries to escape. No alarms go off and no one is gassed, but the original two people remember what happened the last time and become afraid. So they beat up this new person until they lose consciousness, and when this new person wakes up they don't try to escape again, even though the door is still wide open.

Imagine that one of these three people is then taken away and replaced with a new person, who realises the door is wide open and tries to escape, but the other two people, one of whom has never experienced the alarms or the gas, become afraid and prevent this attempted escape by beating up this new person until they lose consciousness.

Now: imagine that one of these three people is then taken away and replaced with a new person, who realises the door is wide open and tries to escape, but the other two people, neither of whom has ever experienced the alarms or the gas, become afraid and prevent this attempted escape by beating up this new person until they lose consciousness.

So here's where I'm going with this: none of these three people have ever had the experience of being gassed but each person will now try to prevent the others from escaping out that wide open door.

Finally, imagine that one of these people is me and another one of these people is you.

And this, I contend [and still maintain], is predictive programming.

DISINFORMATION SENSITIVITY WORKSHOP #1: WORDS ARE PICTURES

PART I: THE SOCIAL CONTRACT

In the following dramatisation, the words "we" and [paradoxically!] "they" refer to the media-military-industrial-complex, the word "I" refers to me, the word "you" refers to you and the word "us" refers to us, dig?

PART II: ONE WORD TO RULE US ALL

See, this is how it's gonna play out:

And this is how they [who?] are gonna try to make you feel:

PART III: WINNING HEARTS AND MINDS

And in the coming weeks and months of what will, at times, seem like brutal, senseless chaos, you're not gonna fall for that shit any more, coz you're gonna remember these words:

I know, but you are.
