La Grande Intifada: Operation Odyssey Dawn

Okay been awhile since we have done an update. Everything is so batshit spastic its hard to keep up. First off:

LIBYA

Tragically the International Community has stuck its big fat nose where it doesn't belong as per usual.

Its a hard one this as I am sure those on the ground in the Rebel controlled areas who were being slaughtered by Gaddafi's madmen might be feeling some small elation at the moment that they have a hope of some stay of execution. However there is no telling now if they may have succeeded in the long run without outside help.

The fact that enough people were supporting Gaddafi as to make it hard for the rebels to win outright really suggests that maybe they needed to have a tribal gathering and discuss options for Gaddafi's tribe to have some part of a new Libya or maybe have their own country all together. At that point a political solution would really be the only option.

But now in the interests of 'protecting the oil' we have a Western intervention in its worst possible of ways. With French, Italian, UK and American air forces in action over the skies of North Africa it is Neocolonialism at its worst once again. So really non intervention was the only option on this one.

Letting the Libyans sort themselves out whilst urging restraint on both sides was our best bet. But we couldn't leave the oil to the peasants any longer so we 'got involved'. An event that will muddy the Intifada and no doubt make it no longer as pure a peoples movement as we have been witnessing before.

And with a wacky name like Operation Odyssey Dawn it will no doubt be one more dark testament in the long line of interventionist foreign policy fuck ups that the west is so good at. I wonder what unit at the Pentagon has the task to sit around coming up with all these hokey Operation Names?? Hows Enduring Freedom going for you boys?? And what exact Odyssey is this the Dawn of?? Going to find the Golden Fleece in the Mediterranean are you?

At the very least you possibly just turned the whole Mediterranean region into a warzone. Anyway first footage of the airstrikes over Tripoli hitting the airwaves:

But even as the bombing runs supposedly 'protect' the rebels on the ground (and make sure that we can never trust the new government of Libya should it win as it will be one more puppet now indebted to the Western Imperial Scumrats) we see an equal number of people forming human shields around Gaddafi sites.

This is a prime example of why military intervention should never have been entered into. One group of peoples demands for self determination are having to be crushed in order to facilitate the others. And if the west air strikes these unarmed human shields then they are every bit as monstrous as Gaddafi has been when he was air striking against the then unarmed pro democracy demonstrators.

[sparx says: they already are every bit as monstrous as Gaddafi, given that Western powers have been supporting and arming the Gaddafi regime since at least 2004, when Tony Blair "said Britain would offer a 'new military relationship' to a country long considered a pariah and that once armed Britain's foe, the Irish Republican Army." [source: chinadaily.com.cn, 26/04/04] and let's not forget our old pal Sakozy signed a whole bunch of "agreements on issues including security, health care and immigration" with Gaddafi back in 2007 [source: news.bbc.co.uk, 25/07/07] but hey, why let a few little "facts" get in the way of claiming the moral high ground, you know?]

[Greg the Bunny says: I thought they only had UN approval to enforce a no fly zone? The latest news is that they have hit one of Gaddafi's offices ... how is this no fly zone enforcement? I can understand taking out air defence but that should be missile sites right? Also the BBC is reporting that US officials are saying "Col Gaddafi himself is not a target of the air strikes, which they say are aimed at his armed forces and air defence systems." WHY THE FUCK NOT?!! Come on people ... why can't the scum ruling the world just duke it out for themselves? Take out Gaddafi and it is all over ... so looks like they are having their cake and eating it ... not restricting themselves to just no fly enforcement while still not doing what needs to be done to get rid of him quickly. Consistency people please!! Else it smarts of one more apparatus to generate profit for the Military Industrial complex and a grab for domestic political points]

[WhiteyRound Eye says: Now now Greg we must be consistent as well. We must be opposed to Extrajudicial Assassination at all levels now matter how repugnant the individual. Gaddafi should be captured and hauled before the Hague given a fair trial and then punished according to the findings of the trial. Its because we keep taking shortcuts around due process that everything is in such disarray. Similarly we must be opposed to Intervention at all times. We can not be opposed to the invasion of Iraq (Saddam was doing just as horrible things to the Marsh Arabs and the Kurds) but support intervention in Libya. Intervention is wrong whenever it occurs. Assisting in a political negotiation through the organs of the 'international community' is the furthest intervention we could support. Bombing a country to 'save' it is bollocks. Especially when they have grossly overstepped the mark of a 'no fly zone' and bombed ground troops and tank columns now. Apparently the Libyans had a special type of flying tank? The whole thing is just to secure Italy's oil supplies which is imperative strategically to NATO. So it's disgusting yet one more chapter in the Blood For Oil black book and it should be opposed by all. Even those of us who hope to see the Rebels triumph can not support external interference like this. Or a local solution could have been hatched. The Egyptian airforce is still functioning. I think Egyptian planes carrying out these missions would have been way less repugnant than yet one more Neo-colonial display of "the natives cant look after themselves we have to step in and help" paternalism that is yet again being displayed. Lets hope the Nuke issue has faded enough in the coming days that Europe and America can finally rise up and 'clean house' of these Globalist power mad energy hungry scum.]

[SockRatEz says: in Bunny's defence (who'd have thought I'd ever ...) he was pointing out that if they are going to overstep the no fly enforcement then why hit the military and air defence systems which is made up of ordinary Libyans (albeit ones who have chosen military life) taking out civilians in the mix when they could end it all and simply hit Gaddafi. Not sure if Bunny was endorsing such a hit but was pointing out the hypocrisy of the overstep without going far enough. But as you point out WRE when we realise that it is just part of the 100 years oil security wars then it all makes more sense]

[Greg the Bunny says: Flying Tanks?!! What like this one ...]

[Greg the bunny says: so shouldn't the west be using these? ... ]

Now its just a murky mess and maybe only a divided Libya is the answer at this point. The heady post Egypt days are well and truly done.

YEMEN

And whilst things have gone pear in Libya they have gone terribly sideways all across the region. And in Yemen the revolt is now mired in blood and chaos:

SYRIA

Even Syria has erupted now something that would not have been expected. But then the whole region is a basket case now so predicting what comes next or where anyones Geopolitical allegiances now lie is almost impossible. Who knows what is real protest and what is CIA backed destruction of enemy states anymore.

BAHRAIN

If any proof of the Wests hypocrisy is needed even as they 'intervene' in a 'noble cause' to save the pro democracy protesters in Libya they have given the green light for their most favoured allies in the region the House of Saud to invade neighbouring Bahrain and help crush the rebellion their.

A successful rebellion in Bahrain could spark a serious revolt inside Saudi Arabia. Something the US Neocon/House of Saud/Al Queada axis could never allow as the House of Saud is the ultimate seat of Petro Dollar scum power. Linked forever with the CIA Al Queada network and the 911 inside jobbers of the Bush Cheney years. If the Saudi public could behead these evil bastards and the Americans could follow through by executing Obama and Bush/Cheney the world would be a better place.

So to prevent this the Globalists have allowed the Saudi army to invade Bahrain and ruthlessly crush the democracy movement there. You can have democracy if you want to give us your oil. If you're a threat to our oil you must have dictatorship or we will kill you all seems to be the Wests stance on it all.

Footage of Saudi troops invading Bahrain:

Once inside the country this intervention with Western backing happily slaughtered the pro democracy movement (yeah Operation Odyssey Dawn is REALLY about saving the Libyan Rebels from Genocide) and cleared Pearl Roundabout.

And in an astonishing moment of cutting their nose off to spite themselves the Bahraini authorities DESTROYED THEIR OWN PEARL MONUMENT!!!

All in all its one retarded clusterfuck now. And the whole thing is being overshadowed by events in Japan. This was the ultimate black swan event that no one could have predicted and it may have far reaching affects on the global economic crash and the ability for nations to rise up. It will be interesting to see if those predicting a European surge in Intifada next week will find the shadow of nuclear emergency may dampen their efforts. We shall have to wait and see as events unfold in:

JAPAN
