Which is not to say that while writing this article I wasn't drawn into many long, awkward and painful debates with myself about democracy and the rule of law. I was. Specifically, I was drawn into many long, awkward and painful debates with myself about democracy and the rule of law and how it is applied in Kingfisher County, Tulsa, Oklahoma, by the United States government, via it's not inconsiderable manipulation of language. I would now like to engage in a long, awkward and painful debate about democracy and the rule of law and how it is applied in Kingfisher County, Tulsa, Oklahoma, by the United States government, via it's not inconsiderable manipulation of language, with reference to the writings of Walter Benjamin's Critique Of Violence and Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea's The Illuminatus! Trilogy and I would like to state for the record that yes, former Kingfisher County Judge Susie Pritchett of Tulsa, Oklahoma is a goatsucking whorebot.
PART I: Democracy [Or: An Unfolding OF Miscalculations]
I would like to share some thoughts on democracy and the rule of law and the manipulation of language, with reference to Walter Benjamin's Critique of Violence. But first, in what I'm sure you will recognise as a shocking insight into the minds of our readers, it has recently occurred to me that many of you may be disinclined to share my thoughts on democracy and the rule of law and the manipulation of language [and, in fact, may not even read my thoughts on democracy and the rule of law and the manipulation of language at all and just skip to the bits about goatsucking whores] merely because you not have read Walter Benjamin's Critique of Violence.
And yet pish posh to that, I say. PISH POSH! Look what I've done for you:

The Doorstep of the First Great War of the 21st Century

He has been right about a lot of things over the last 5 years ... depending on your viewpoint lets hope he is/isn't (delete as applicable) right this time ...

He is essentially correct in stating that we are witnessing the beginning of a Global Conflict. But I think that a differentiation needs to be made as to the make up of the conflict.
For years the Trends Journal has been tracking the very real attempts by the Global Powers to spark a world war that was to resemble World War 1 or World War 2. Thus sparking World War 4 as a large scale conventional war between armies of the two opposing Empires.
This war of course would not be a decisive play between "Freedom" on one side and "Enslavement to an Evil Empire" on the other as it would be pushed on us all in the State run Medias of the world. It would merely be an accounting exercise designed to cull a large portion of the worlds population and decide who gets to sit as the top head honcho in the World System that would follow.
But the world system to be rolled out would STILL be the same. Both 'sides' are essentially pushing for a similar looking future. The question is who gets to be head honcho Moscow-Beijing axis or London-Washington axis. Either way its a dismal future ahead for us all.
And this Great War would ALSO have served as a huge distraction in order to prevent the people from doing exactly what they are now doing rising up en mass around the world against it all. So I think this type of war described above that the Trends Journal was originally warning against is a good thing to speak out against and demand that it not be allowed to happen. And so far people have won out on that one as the opening decisive act of that war was to be the bombing of Iran which to date has been able to be thwarted every time.
However the Global Conflict we are now witnessing break out is a GOOD thing. Far from resembling World War 1 or 2 World War 4 is looking even more like World War 3 did. A global uprising of anti Colonial and Anti Imperial movements like we saw sweep the world, especially in Africa Asia and the United States, in the 60's and 70's during what many consider to have been World War 3.
However it is even better than that conflict was. As we are seeing some astounding scenes of solidarity on the ground between the various movements. So if the Revolutions hold then it seems very unlikely that these new Governments of the People are going to start declaring conventional wars on each other between the 'Nation States' as things progress. Indeed the more countries can fall into the hands of the people in the coming weeks the better. And the more short circuited any large scale mechanised death style war will be.
Indeed we are seeing some astounding scenes where people armed with rocks, sticks and their bare hands are overwhelming well armed Tank Columns. Something seriously big has just shifted on the planet no matter which way you look at it. And so let us hope that unlike World War 3, which petered out before the gains the people made at the time could be consolidated, that this conflict carries all the way through and does indeed bring the world into a better state of being.
I haven't actually read all of the Trends Journal Max is referring to there so maybe Celente gets into it all more deeply in there than he has been on his interview circuit. He is correct however in stating that World War 1 was the final stage of Feudalism and the collapsing world order that had begun a full hundred and twenty or so years earlier with the French and American revolutions.
However unlike now the World Powers were able to set up World War 1, a highly contrived war that really did not need to happen and thus the people were for the most part confused and distracted by that slaughter and did not fully purge their societies of the Royalist remains. And so the horror that was the Treaty of Versailles was allowed to come into existence that really set the stage for the next hundred years of conflict.
So far the attempts to set up World War 4 as a great "Clash of Civilisations" has failed and so a great mass of people power will now tear this world order down and hopefully the worse elements of the Treaty of Versaille with it.
Celente is also right to suggest that this Great Intifada is headed for Europe next. As we saw with the astounding scenes over the weekend of thousands clashing in the Croatian capital Zagreb. Most analysts had always assumed that the EU countries in particular the PIIGS would be the first to explode and only once Europe was well in flames would the rest of the continent follow suit. For NON EU Nations to already be blowing up is a sign that the convulsion about to rock Europe will be every bit as speedy and destructive to the World Tyrants as the one currently burning across Africa and the Middle East.
One must not overlook how much of Africa is being affected by the Egypt moment as well. Too often the western media is only focusing on "our" Oil countries. But Egypt inspired uprisings have now also occurred in Cameroon, Zimbabwe and South Africa. And possibly many more I have not had time to research. So Celente IS right this is about to go global. But I think in a much more positive way than it was previously touted to do so.
So my "Trends Outlook" then would be get ready to see Africa, Europe, then Asia and the North Americans will be neck and neck for who erupts there first and then finally the Oceania region to fall like dominoes one by one.
The only wild card in this will be South America. It has already had some disturbances on the streets of several of its cities. And lets not forget it was South America where the neoliberals tested all this carnage. First with Chile and then Argentina. Once the social engineers saw how successfully these economic practices destroyed those countries economies and plunged them into horrible mass death dictatorships they then began exporting the model out to the whole world. So South America has the longest history of all with some of these things we are seeing now.
However South America ALSO has a number of radical leaders in place who may take the necessary steps to stave off the troubles growing there even more. Although it has been quite disheartening to see Chavez falling for the Gaddafi lie of late. Just because he stays in a tent instead of a fancy hotel when he travels to the UN does not make him the peoples man he claims to be. Look at all his recently exposed links to US banks and British and Italian Oil companies. We will do a more in depth post on all that soon.
However if these leaders wake up out of their stupor and begin to remove South America from the Globalised system and begin putting in place policies that assist the people over the Corporations and make some radical steps towards improving the rights of the numerous indigenous populations across the continent maybe any large scale continent wide uprising in South America will be avoided. We will have to wait and see.]

Is General Petraeus' Mother a goat sucking whore?
I was debating with myself whether to post this or simply put it on the News Leads but in the end I can't let this blatant and disgusting disinformation go unchallenged ...
In one single attack recently the US murdered up to about 65 people in NE Afghanistan. The bastards have the gaul to try to spin the massacre. Petraeus apparently told President Karzai that the locals have been exaggerating claims of deaths and injuries and that in some instances the parents of the injured children probably burned their kids hands and feet to put blame on the US.
Admiral Smith continued the line saying ''We have observed increased reporting of children being disciplined by having their hands and feet dipped into boiling water. No one is claiming this is the case in this instance, but it may well be.''
Well Admiral people have said that your and David's mothers turn tricks on the corners of Mexico and that they suck goats and fuck horses for money. No one here is claiming this is the case, but it may well be. Who knows mate, who knows.

And imagine the interesting and poignant thing about this bar is that the door is wide open.
Now: imagine that one of these three people realises the door to this bar is wide open and tries to escape, but as soon as this happens, all kinds of alarms go off and all three people are gassed until they lose consciousness.
When they wake up one of these three people realises [again] that the door to this bar is wide open and tries [again] to escape. But as soon as this happens the other two people become afraid and argue with the first person, saying, basically: the last time someone tried to escape all kinds of alarms went off and all three of us were gassed until we lost consciousness and it was really socially awkward and got in the way of drinking.

WELCOME TO THE MISSION
As arrive at the denouement of our current Empire we can anlayse that one of the main problems it faced was it’s colonialism had reached the finite limits of growth. Put simply there were very few places left on earth that could be entirely colonised and exploited as they were already all, well and truly, under the yoke of the Empires.
Colonialism had almost reached a point where it was overthrown in the 60’s. We saw rebellions sweep the world as state after state threw out their colonial masters and demanded independent sovereignty was returned to them. This unrest even took hold in the heartland of the Empire itself with the various uprisings within the United States at the time, that in some way even spilled into the United Kingdom and associated lands like Australia, which despite much disinfo still plays an important role in the Empire whom the sun never sets on.
These movements were however eventually usurped and far from receiving true sovereignty for these communities they just replaced the overt Imperialism, that was propped up with Colonialism, with a covert Colonialism led by co-opted fascist rulers maintaining the regions for their masters back in London and Washington.
Now however we are witnessing something even larger than what we saw back then. Not only has a new explosion of liberation movements just virally spiraled across the ‘outlands’ of the empire but a slow realisation is occurring at its core that once Colonialism could no long colonise the “Natives”, it began to turn in on itself and eat itself by Colonising the very people of the Empire who were meant to be benefiting from its vast resource collecting supply lines.
This phenomenon was felt by many citizens of the empire and terms were invented to describe it; “Globalisation of the Economy” or the “New World Order” were some of the most common. Regardless of what language was used, individuals were trying to describe the same phenomenon that was just beyond reach of being able to fully explain and therein attempts were being made to create a language to describe what was happening.
What in fact was hap
pening was the many citizens of the heartland of the Empire were suddenly finding themselves on the receiving end of the very tactics that once were reserved only for the “Natives” of the various colonies. In short the colonisers themselves were becoming colonised by the very system they had just used to spread their Empire around the world.
Having run out of new realms to consume the snake had begun to eat itself. So it is important then at this time to pay attention to what the indigenous people of these many colonised realms have to say as they alone can tell us best what will come next if we do nothing. They also have numerous suggestions on ways forward to escape our current civilization suicide moment.
It is important to remember that many tactics that have been tried out on the Indigenous are then going to be rolled out on us, who may not be First Nations people. This means that in the case of Australia the current military intervention into Aboriginal territories must not only be viewed through the lens of a continuation of a 200 year colonising system but also as the potential practice run for the wider Martial Law that will then be rolled out across Australia, on ALL Australians, as the Empire’s push to fully consolidate itself increases. The use of the ration cards, the militarisation of the police force and the level of government intervention across all aspects of life will become the norm for the entire Australian population if it is allowed to continue.
We are also seeing the same tactics that were used in the previous era’s of colonialism being reused with massacres of people asserting their sovereignty now occurring across the regions that are rising up.
Therefore, just as it was back in the 1960’s, the cause of the third world revolutions against the Colonisers on the fringes of the Empire is the same cause as the First Nations peoples in the heart of the empire. Now more than ever it is also the cause of any pro liberty movements of non-indigenous citizens of the realm as we see in the rebellions sweeping the supposed uncolonised but rapidly being colonised, heartlands of Europe.
So for those in Australia who want to seriously begin pushing back against this madness their first point of entry into a movement to resist and overthrow the Genocidal Empire MUST begin with the indigenous population of the region. Now more than ever is a time when we need the guidance and leadership of Elders, as the edifices of what are supposed to be our Western versions of this collapse completely into a broken hung political process, that can do nothing to resist the surge towards the final moments of Globalising the Great Police State that all empires inevitably become. So Australian readers must pay particular attention then to all such movements as the days progress.

The RBA hell bent on destroying Australia, the banks its Zabaaniyah...
Okay so I use biblical terms in the title ... for the record, it was just for effect ... of course as Lloyd Blankfein of Goldman Sachs tells us, the banksters are doing gods’ work,
though later a spokesman did say that it was a joke and what he really meant was that he was “living a dream”.
Er, and that is better how?
I digress ... we are talking the Aussie banking system here ... what in the hell is everyone on? So many lies, so much corruption, unprosecuted admissions of massive criminal activity, contradictions that would make your wallet explode ... and no-one cares and/or no-one understands ... (I say no-one ... of course someone does ... )
Bloomberg reports that Moody’s is about to downgrade the Aussie banks’ credit ratings. Why? Because of funding worries in the overseas wholesale market. This is the mantra trotted out by our big four banks over the past few years every time they move in an extraordinary manner against the cash rate movements. In fact about two years ago I wrote to the Chairman and CEO of ANZ asking how they justify the moves outside those mandated by the RBA ... the answer was that due to the increased price of wholesale funds from overseas they had to increase the spread from the cash rate.
But interest rates around the world are close to zero.
The banks have some of the highest ratings of any bank in the world.
The AUD has been going up meaning it is cheaper for them to pay down old debt than before.
We are in a boom so shouldn’t we be in a trade surplus and therefore paying down the debt not taking on more?
But that is the problem with the high interest rate, it leads to a high exchange rate meaning our exporters get less AUD for their goods meaning less net trade surplus meaning the banks have to borrow more from overseas and since it is a high interest rate leading to a high exchange rate they borrow less AUD for every USD they borrow. WOW the RBA is doing a good job on the country. It is the Great Fleece of Australia ... and no sheep involved this time ... just the RBA and high interest rates.
So apparently there is good news coming though. The banks now claim that Moody’s of course should not downgrade them as they have fixed the problem with the reliance on wholesale funds from overseas –
“ANZ, Australia’s third-largest bank by market value, has “been working hard” to reduce its reliance on wholesale funding, which now accounts for about one third of the Melbourne-based lender’s funding mix, Group Treasurer Rick Moscati said in a statement today.”
Well then GIVE ME MY MONEY ... SMACK ... GIVE ME MY MONEY ... SMACK ... I DON’T WANT TO HEAR IT ... SMACK ... GIVE ME MY MONEY ... SMACK ...YOU HAVE TWO DAYS ... SMACK ...

I have a dream. Well, not so much a dream, really. More like one of those, what do you call the wakey-time dreams? Incredibly detailed and elaborate assassination fantasies? Right. So. I have a dream. In my dream I abseil from the top of a sky-scraper right through the front window of McDonalds. Ronald McDonald is there. Waiting. Waiting for me. I have a piano wire with me. Let's see what this reputable, mainstream publication has to say about it:

Campaigners for ethically produced food today carried out their threat to behead Ronald McDonald - in a sick publicity stunt that has been branded 'poor taste' by the restaurant chain. Members of a group calling themselves the 'Food Liberation Army' staged the beheading in a Helsinki art gallery, after sparking outrage last week by releasing an Al Qaeda-style spoof video in which they were seen holding a hooded Ronald McDonald hostage.

Members of the group stole a Ronald McDonald statue from a Helsinki restaurant on January 31, posting their videoed demands on YouTube days later. Finnish police later recovered the statue and arrested two of the members. Artist Jani Leinonen was present at the event - unmasked this time as he posed for photographers with the disconnected head of Ronald.
Mr Leinonen is one of the two members of the group who was arrested earlier this week. In the original YouTube video, the group are seen in black balaclavas with Ronald in the foreground, wearing a hood. The spokesman threatens to execute the character if the fast food chain refuses to answer questions about how it produces its products. McDonalds told MailOnline after the footage was released that the stunt was 'in very poor taste'. It also denied the group's suggestion that it was attempting to hide details about its food quality and manufacturing processes.

NEW WORLD ORDER PUSHES AHEAD
So if the many myriad theories of the New World Order have any common threads that we can pull out some coherent patterns from we can see that two are likely to be completely true and are in fact actually coming to pass before our very eyes. There seems to be two key factors that the looming (it won’t succeed) World Government would use in order to manage its global Empire.
One is its attempt to destroy the currencies of the world and hegemonise power of the world currencies under the banner of its unified World Currency. We see the nascent birth of this currency in the rebirth of the SDR. Of course there is a massive backlash against this global Fiat Currency being launched across the globe by the insurgents who are stashing Gold and Silver and other commodities in defiance of this plot.
The second factor is the fashion in which they intend to split the Globe up into a collection of easily managed giant trading blocks. With the North American Union, African Union, European Union, Asian Union and so on and so forth. They have been steadily building towards this for the past 30 years or so as well, with a drastic acceleration since the Global Economic Coup in 2008 and the Lisbon Treaty of the year before. But this has been steadily building since the numerous Free Trade treaties began to take affect under the watchful eye of the Globalists of the WTO.

Hard and Green Rubbish Collection is on near my warren and there are hundreds of TVs sitting on the nature strips around me ... ... bit of a lagging economic indicator that our own fiat money stimulus in Oz [sick [sic]] was put to good use, but I put the fact that it took a year to throw them out down to a sign of the inherent guilt that the humans felt throwing out perfectly good TVs ... one house had four tvs outside it ... they even replaced their kids sets ... yes, the stimulus went to good use ...
... I also noticed a more current economic indicator bearing out the existence of the current bernank* we are experiencing ... all the copper power cords have been snipped off ...
... at the risk of sounding all Yes, Minister perhaps the people don't know how to best allocate their money. Divide Et Impera!!
So as we enter the most amazing moment in the pivot of world history (a moment not seen since the fall of the Berlin Wall) it is important to remain wary of what the Globalists will now throw against the people who across the world are clamouring for their freedom.
The obvious solution that they will unleash on us now will be the ancient and classic Divide and Conquer a tactic the Imperialists have used since the days of the Caesars. As we have reported on for years we now have a huge volume of evidence that suggests that the Global Terror networks far from being a radical insurgent force against the Empire are actually a force that is in the EMPLOY of the Globalists (whether the average grunt fighting for these forces is aware of this or not).
Whatever ideologies may actually spur on the patsies who carry out the attacks their command structures take their orders and their financing from the Globalist Elite of the New World Order. The very SAME people who then send the armies of NATO in to fight against this constructed enemy. And by the time the invasion is under way plenty of local people are forced into a defensive war for their homelands and so soon the whole region is in flames.
These terror groups are like a fifth column who carry these attacks out in order to allow the Globalists to continuously attack and roll back the democracies of the west, and provide the pretext for the subsequent third world invasions, as they consolidate their powers for the world Empire. And so most of these networks receive their orders from shadow groups in the Pentagon and the intelligence services of the west whilst they receive their funding from the same mega banks in the City of London and Wall Street that have also launched the unprecedented economic war against the people of the world.
And so as the people finally awaken across the world we can only expect that these groups will be used in ever increasing frequency as the desperation of the Globalists reaches fever pitch. Indeed we saw this recently in the Egypt crisis. Using a tactic that they used successfully in Iraq to spark off a sectarian war between the Sunni and Shia of Iraq they tried to start a similar conflict in Egypt between the Christian minority and the Muslim majority.
It can be pretty easily supposed that they smelt the rumblings of approaching Revolution and were trying to stave it off by sparking a spiralling civil war blood bath instead. A state of being that these Globalists seem to love keeping much of the world in and profit so much from.
Astonishingly for the first time in the past 10 years we have seen a country smart enough NOT to fall for this ploy. And as the subsequent weeks have played out we now have reached the situation where all the people of Egypt (Christian AND Muslim) have been standing shoulder to shoulder against their local Globalist Muppet of the region the slimebag Mubarak.
And as the Revolution has unfolded we have seen amazing scenes of solidarity with Muslim prayers being protected by Christians and vice versa with Christian prayer time being protected by Muslims even in Alexandria the site of the earlier bombing. And it is interesting to note that following the revolt overwhelming the state and secret police in Egypt not a single terrorist bombing has taken place. It adds overwhelming weight to the supposition that so many of these attacks are financed and equipped by the very police forces who claim they are there to defend us from such terrorism.
So it just goes to show that the people CAN wake up and transcend the fundamentalist extremism that the Globalists from their halls in London and Washington DC are trying to torch the world with and maintain the classic Divide and Rule.
And of course in the heartland of the Globalists Empire the United States we are now seeing a similar tactic deployed. It should be quickly noted at this point that the United States has been picked as the Globalists main roosting point merely for its military muscle as it is the current supreme expression of that currently on the planet. GOLD SPOT PRICE – not worth the paper it’s written on
Every morning, on whichever morning show you watch, at the end of the news they flash up the GOLD price. It is somehow seen as a barometer of the health of society and the sickness of fiat currency ... except that it is wrong ... it does not represent the price of gold at all, well not for you and me ...Let’s leave aside the fact that the price is almost certainly heavily manipulated by the likes of JP Morgan on behalf of the Fed and instead just talk about the number itself.
We keep getting told by the likes of Alex Jones and “friend-of-the-site” Max Keiser (even if he doesn’t know it!) to go out and buy gold and silver. But if you want to buy gold how do you do it? Well depending on how rich you are there are a couple of ways. If you have a lot more money than me then you can deal directly with bullion banks. But for the small guy if we want to protect ourselves from the coming collapse of fiat currency then we must either invest in gold through gold ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds), such as GOLD on the ASX, or we buy small amounts of physical gold from the mint. In Australia the Perth Mint is the place to go. The price of neither of these is reflected by the “Gold Price” we see each day. Silver is much the same.
ETFs – these are NOT GOLD. They are a derivative of gold and are actually just bits of paper saying they are gold. In effect when Nixon in the 70s stated that the US would no longer redeem paper money in gold the banks simply rubbed their hands together and remonetised gold with their own bank bills or Gold ETFs. That is a story for another time. ETFs therefore are simply promissory notes written by banks which suggest that you have just bought gold. The fund behind the ETF provides a covenant that they have the gold if you want to go get it. The trick for them, as the history of money tells us, is that at any one time not everyone will want to access their gold so they can actually sell more bits of paper saying it represents gold than the actual gold stock they own and store. You have NOT bought gold. You have bought a claim on the balance sheet of the fund from which you bought the paper. Paper gold is usually priced at a slight premium to the spot price of gold to pay for the management of the fund and the cost of storing the gold that is most likely not there. With the price of gold increasing and more and more individuals and governments buying the physical stock we may well see a point in which the funds cannot actually buy gold in the market to fill the paper promises they have made. The paper will therefore be seen as risky and will trade below the price of gold ... which is only right as why would I pay the same price for a bit of paper as I would for a nice shiny bit of metal? Please note that I firmly believe that spending all your money on a shiny bit of metal is a staggering manifestation of disinformation ... it is just another financial investment, the value of which is held only by mutual agreement, in which you have to decide which way the price will go so that you can earn more fiat currency to spend on the goods you want to buy in the future. But the yellow metal in of itself holds only a small intrinsic value for its uses in electronics and other new technologies.
Physical Gold, better known as Gold – now we are talking, if you want gold for some reason then physical is the only way to go. Why not paper? Paper is NOT gold. As already stated it is a derivative and in part a bet on the credit worthiness of the Fund selling the ETF. But purchasing physical gold has its issues too. Where would you go to buy gold? Don’t say a jewellers!! Well, you might have to try the Perth Mint. Now try buying gold at the spot price ... can’t do it can you? Unless you have $68,741 (at current price) you will end up paying up to $1,615, or $246 too much, per ounce for your gold.
In fact even if you have a handy 68k to convert into 50 ounces of gold you will still pay the spread of $5 (current) per ounce or $250, you’ll pay that or more again when you sell it, not to mention the cost of delivery, or storage, and if you are taking personal delivery (which is the only way you can be sure it is there) then don’t tell a single person and ensure that you take out insurance ... more expense ...
... so the price of gold, the POG, is not the price of gold ... DISINFO ... still, it’s fun to watch as the higher it goes the more fucked the paper gold issuers are and the more the price manipulators will suffer ...
BTW, don't even think about buying coins! Al least not if you want to make money. At the moment the Perth Mint offers 1 oz Silver Coins for $40 ... which is 33% higher than the price of silver ... earlier this year they were selling for $90 or more than 300% the $28 per oz price of Silver at the time ... don't fool yourself that you can sell at a premium price ... so the price of a coin went from $90 to $40 in the period the "price of silver" went from $28 to $30 ... seem a little strange to you? No Anagram For Avatar: Predictive Programing In Pop Culture [With Reference To Plato's Allegory Of The Cave]
DISCLAIMER:
I would like to begin this article with an explanation of why a discussion of James Cameron's movie Avatar [2009] is relevant to a blog that is devoted to total disinformation awareness. I intend to use this movie as an analogy to explore some of the issues surrounding predictive programming and cultural conditioning. Astute readers will note that these are two different labels for the same phenomena. I might equally call it behaviour modification or mind control, except that in the case of Avatar it happens on a mass scale. Recent estimates indicate that almost 27 million people have seen the film at a cinema with the full 3D immersion effect. For the sake of brevity I shall avoid any extended discussion of the technology behind Avatar, as I don't think the special effects are the most important factor here, although the experience of being totally immersed in someone else's vision is an issue that should be considered in depth. Equally, I am omitting any discussion of the plot or storyline of the film as, for the sake of full disclosure I feel it is only right to admit that I haven't actually seen it on account of how the whole thing really fucking creeps me out.
INTRODUCTION: Not Just Imprisoned, The Prison Itself
[Or: It May Only Be A Movie But It Has The Power To Transport Us All To A Magical Dreamland Where We Will Become So Happy We'll Want To Kill Ourselves]
Firstly: no responsible, rational blogger would, could or should expect to get away with a line like that.

So that's alright, then.
As I will argue [#withlogic!] in this article, predictive programming is nothing new, and one of the earliest references that I've been able to find is Plato's allegory of the cave. Before we get into that, or into what some more contemporary thinkers are writing about predictive programming, lets have some background information on all this Avatar shit [and a fucking creepy picture] preferably from a reputable, mainstream source:
James Cameron's completely immersive spectacle "Avatar" may have been a little too real for some fans who say they have experienced depression and suicidal thoughts after seeing the film the beauty of the alien world Pandora. On the fan forum site "Avatar Forums," a topic thread entitled "Ways to cope with the depression of the dream of Pandora being intangible," has received more than 1,000 posts from people experiencing depression and fans trying to help them cope.
A user named Mike wrote on the fan Web site "Naviblue" that he contemplated suicide after seeing the movie. "Ever since I went to see 'Avatar' I have been depressed. Watching the wonderful world of Pandora and all the Na'vi made me want to be one of them. I can't stop thinking about all the things that happened in the film and all of the tears and shivers I got from it," Mike posted. "I even contemplate suicide thinking that if I do it I will be rebirthed in a world similar to Pandora and the everything is the same as in 'Avatar.'"
Creepy, right? Other fans have expressed feelings of disgust with the human race and disengagement with reality. Cameron's movie, which has pulled in more than $1.4 billion in worldwide box office sales and could be on track to be the highest grossing film of all time, is set in the future when the Earth's resources have been pillaged by the human race. A greedy corporation is trying to mine the rare mineral unobtainium from the planet Pandora, which is inhabited by a peace-loving race of 10-foot tall, blue-skinned natives called the Na'vi.
In their race to mine for Pandora's resources, the humans clash with the Na'vi, leading to casualties on both sides. The world of Pandora is reminiscent of a prehistoric fantasyland, filled with dinosaur-like creatures mixed with the kinds of fauna you may find in the deep reaches of the ocean. Compared with life on Earth, Pandora is a beautiful, glowing utopia.
Cameron's special effects masterpiece is very lifelike, and the 3-D performance capture and CGI effects essentially allow the viewer to enter the alien world of Pandora for the movie's 2½-hour running time, which only lends to the separation anxiety some individuals experience when they depart the movie theater.
"Virtual life is not real life and it never will be, but this is the pinnacle of what we can build in a virtual presentation so far," said Dr. Stephan Quentzel, psychiatrist and Medical Director for the Louis Armstrong Center for Music and Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. "It has taken the best of our technology to create this virtual world and real life will never be as utopian as it seems onscreen. It makes real life seem more imperfect." Within the fan community, suggestions for battling feelings of depression after seeing the movie include things like playing "Avatar" video games or downloading the movie soundtrack, in addition to encouraging members to relate to other people outside the virtual realm and to seek out positive and constructive activities.

So, let's review: Avatar is a "completely immersive spectacle" which has produced in some viewers "feelings of disgust with the human race and disengagement with reality" as well as suicidal ideation and the belief in some kind of supernatural afterlife upon death. Astute readers will immediately notice the similarities between this and the intended results of both military training and religious indoctrination.
And that is why I want to examine it more closely in our awesome new blog.
